How to Teach Identifying Feelings to Elementary Students
Students of all ages can benefit from using our SocialMojis visual tool when learning to identify feelings or working on emotional recognition! We’ve designed them to be visually appealing for preschool age all the way through high school as they look similar to emojis used in texting. You’ll find these visuals used throughout all of our video lessons, games, and worksheets, enhancing any Everyday Speech material you’ve selected!
Lesson Plan- Using Your Free Identifying Feelings Material
There are so many fun ways to use our printable SocialMojis but our top three are:
1. Print out and hang on an Emotion Wall
Decorate your space with these graphics to provide a fun looking area that will also come in handy anytime your students need to work on identifying how they or others are feeling!
2. Cut them up as cards for an Emotions Charades game
Ask elementary age students to identify the feelings they see on each card and act them out themselves! This makes a fun group game as well.
3. Pair with our video lesson We All Have Feelings Introduction (click here for 30 day free trial)
This video modeling lesson uses real kids who break down the skills for you! Your learners will be super engaged and love the on screen visuals and follow up games provided in the lesson.
