Introduction

No-Prep Activity

The Emotion ID activity requires no preparation or materials from the educator. Simply ask your students to form a circle and choose one student to be the “emotion actor.” The emotion actor will think of an emotion and express it through their facial expression, tone of voice, and choice of words. The other students in the circle will observe the emotion actor and try to guess the emotion they are portraying. Once the emotion has been correctly identified, another student will take the role of the emotion actor, and the game continues. This activity encourages students to pay close attention to the different aspects of emotional expression and helps them practice identifying emotions in a fun and interactive way.
