Happy New Year, Everyday Speechies!
We have a bunch of new and exciting things to ring in 2023! Let’s take a look!
This month, we are adding materials to our Play Skills and Switching Tracks goals! For our new Play Skills materials you will find elementary videos, and activities, focusing on using the Problem Solving Steps and being a good sport to successfully navigate conflicts on the playground. For our new Switching Tracks materials you will find pre-k videos, and activities, to help students successfully navigate unexpected and unpleasant changes in environments or schedule.
Additionally, we have a brand new game called Garden Maze to further teach your pre-k learners social skills while having fun! And of course, we have two brand new winter activities: one to ring in 2023 and one to celebrate MLK Day!
Check out and learn more about all of these new materials below!
New Crafts
New Years Activity: New Year Countdown
With a new year comes a great opportunity for reflection and goal-setting. In this activity, learners have the opportunity to select 12 goals or resolutions for themselves for the New Year. Writing down their goals makes them more likely to achieve them in the upcoming year!
MLK Day Activity: MLK Day Making the World a Better Place
Every January we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. and his achievements. Dr. King promoted a message of kindness and equality for all that we still celebrate today. For this activity, learners will have the opportunity to reflect and share how they want to make a difference in the world.
New Game
Students will help their favorite plant character make their way through a garden maze to find their friend! Throughout the maze, students will have the opportunity to practice and answer social skills questions in order to get past the obstacles they face on the path!
