Johnny isn’t using appropriate voice volume. First, he speaks too quietly and then he yells too loudly. Owen feels confused and thinks Johnny is hard to talk to. Once Johnny learns how loudly to speak, he can have successful conversations!
Use Voice Volume
Using the appropriate voice volume is a really important part of conversational skills. Some students speak really quietly, while others are way too loud. Your students may benefit from visual reminders such as a colored scale from 1-10 with arrows showing if they need to be louder or softer.
